All products certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) contain organically produced natural fibers, such as cotton or linen. These fibers are cultivated in accordance with the strict requirements of national and international organic standards. In contrast to conventional agriculture, certified organic cultivation does not use any synthetic chemical pesticides or fertilizers.
The GOTS standard covers mandator social criteria, such as fundamental labor rights in accordance with the International Labour Organization's (ILO) core standards, as well as environmental criteria concerning chemicals, wastewater, energy, and waste throughout the entire supply chain.
Independent, accredited testing agencies carry out inspections throughout the entire supply chain.
